| | | | | Aesop once said... "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." That's so true. Often, it is the small acts of kindness which create the biggest and most positive changes. These small deeds, delivered with love and compassion, can make an amazing difference. You may think what you're doing is so insignificant but it's likely to make a huge difference to someone or something in the great order of things. There are many stories that remind me that small acts of kindness are powerful. Like the boy who was on the beach spending his time and energy collecting beached starfish to throw back into the sea. Someone came along and was bemused at the boy's folly, shouting, 'What's the point of throwing them back? You're not making a difference.' The boy released another starfish in the sea and replied: 'Well, I made a difference to that one.' And it's true. Even if you make a difference to one life today, then it's worth doing. Make someone laugh, show simple courtesy, give your seat on the train to someone more needy, give a little of your time and energy to a worthy cause, and you WILL make a difference. And when you offer a kind deed, notice how warm you feel inside. You will positively radiate. Apart from love, nothing else can give you that inner glow and the more kindness you give, the greater that feeling. Try it today! You can make a difference! Labels: inspiration, quotes, random acts of kindness This is a random blog post.
Unlike most of my messages, it has no real theme.
Today's post is partially a Monday Random Act of Kindness, partially a message of inspiration, partially a greeting for the holidays, and wholly a big dollop of love.
Why?
Because Christmas is here. It's the time for you to open your heart and embrace the world around you.
You see, anyone that knows me... knows one thing.
I love this time of year!
It's magical. People everywhere -- at least those not caught in the crazed, ever-busy last-minute gift rush -- open their hearts and become just a little more loving.
It's the time we can officially be jovial and say "I LOVE YOU!" without feeling like an idiot.
It's rationed happiness.
Of course, you could be like that all year round -- and feel great as a result. But if you don't, AT LEAST do it for Christmas, and live every minute of the holidays to the full!
So, what can you do to get into the Christmas spirit?
Well, Random Acts of Kindness are a fantastic way to start!
They're small acts of kindness, done for the good of some stranger, solely for the purpose of making their like more joyful -- without expecting anything in return!
http://www.karlblog.com/blog/labels/random%20acts%20of%20kindness.html
Let me give you some examples.
This week, my mother donated much of her wages to abandoned cat and dog charities here in the North East of England. (And my mum has a lot of big bills to pay!)
On Saturday, I helped an elderly man overloaded with bags up the steep hill to Durham train station.
Last night, I gave a surprise visit to an elderly friend -- and decorated his otherwise-Christmas-free house with bright tinsel and wreaths and "Merry Christmas!" signs. They cost me £7 in total, and changed his mindset completely!
Those are just a few festive Random Act's of Kindness you can use to change someone else's life -- and make yourself feel great at the same time.
A Random Act of Kindness is, after all, simply an act of love.
And what is Christmas if not love?
Before signing off today, I'd like to give you a couple of quick Christmas gifts.
Firstly, if you haven't yet downloaded the Karl Blog.com Christmas screensaver, then click here to learn more and download your copy for free.
Secondly, I've prepared an official greetings card just for YOU!
Please... I'd like you to ask that you take two seconds out to visit the following site and listen to my message...
I guarantee it'll pep up your day.
And so, as this glorious day slowly retires and the sound of sleighbells gently ring in the distance, allow me to wish you... a very, very merry Christmas!
With love, with happiness, with a big smile and wide pupils... I wish you all the very, very best.
:)

My suggestion this week is simple -- and it might just help reduce a little excess clutter around the house.
Spring clean your house for Christmas - and donate old clothes and knick-knacks to a local charity shop.
You'll feel great as a result, and you'll have done a little toward helping make the world a better place.
Congratulations! :)Labels: random acts of kindness Welcome to another Random Act of Kindness!
And today I'm asking...
When was the last time you gave someone a REAL hug?
For absolutely no reason whatsoever?
If it's been a while, then make it today. That's the karma challenge. Hug!
Absolutely anybody. For absolutely any reason, or no reason whatsoever.
And if you need a little inspiration, click here and pass it on.
Labels: random acts of kindness Welcome to another Random Act of Kindness!
Most people reading today's post will simply hit delete. They won't do it.
It's a karma challenge people will feel NERVOUS about... Especially me!
Perhaps you'll be the exception?
Today's Random Act of Kindness is to...
GIVE BLOOD.
Not just talk about it. Not just consider it. But actually do it.
I've never given blood before. However when I had to have a number of blood tests taken recently, I was surprised by some of the statistics.
There are TINY levels of certain blood types existing right now in the official blood banks. You can actually preview "stock levels" live for the UK here: http://www.blood.co.uk/pages/stocklevel.html
You really COULD save a live today.
Donate blood.
I'm going to this week. I hope you join me.

Maybe it'll inspire you to perform a RAK today?
* * * Robert writes...
Next, I have a wonderful little story to tell that has restored a little bit of my faith in humanity.
The other day, my mother-in-law left her purse on a city bus. She was quite distraught over the whole thing because she had her credit/bank cards and id (including her passport) in it; not to mention $140.00 (CAD) cash she had earmarked for groceries. She went about cancelling all her cards then decided to make a trip to the bus company's lost and found office; just in case.
The rest of the family didn't hold much hope for the return of the purse because she lives in a city of over 1 million people and I must admit our skepticism about people has increased proportionately to the city's population. At any rate, and to our great surprise, the purse had been turned in completely intact; including all her id, credit cards and (believe it or not) all her cash!!!
I think what makes this story interesting is not only the fact she got EVERYTHING back, but also the level of negativity we've declined to.
I wouldn't suggest our skepticism in the goodness of humanity is an unfortunate consequence of society's evolution away from close knit/family oriented lives and into the world of "strangers" and fast-paced living. For some reason, dealing with strangers appears to have justified a decline in morals/values. I started reading a book called: "The cultural contradictions of capitalism;" though haven't gotten too far into it because it's very heavy reading. I did think the title spoke volumes though; assuming it espouses the contradictions between making money and caring about the welfare of humanity/individuals.
But instead of getting mired under with negativity, I would like to celebrate the fact that there are good souls left in the world; souls that found honesty/integrity to be paramount to $140!
Isn't that wonderful?!!!Labels: random acts of kindness Welcome to another Monday morning Random Act of Kindness!
Today's suggestion comes courtesy of best-selling author, Nick Daws, who writes:
"The next time you receive particularly good service in a shop, restaurant or even a government office, don't just thank the person concerned. Get their name and write a letter of praise to their manager!
"If for some reason you can't get their name, describe them in enough detail so that their manager will have no problem identifying who it is. Many people working in service industries get little recognition for their efforts, so something like this really can make their day!"
Not sure if that really makes a difference?
It happened recently to my neighbour and friend, Geoffrey Gregg, with whom I play chess and Countdown regularly.
In this video, Geoff talks about about how someone wrote a letter of appreciation for his organ playing at the local crematorium...
(If you're reading this by e-mail, visit http://www.karlblog.com/ to view the full video.)
Listen to his words.
Geoff says that he'll keep that card... until he dies.
Would you like to make a difference to someone's life as deep as that?
Then get to it. Write a letter of appreciation.
If you're not convinced of exactly what being appreciative can do for you, read my earlier post here: http://www.karlblog.com/blog/2007/01/power-of-positivity.html
And have a GREAT Monday! :)Labels: random acts of kindness, videos Today's Random Act of Kindness comes from Louise V, who responded to my request last week.
I love her suggestion. That's why I'm posting her e-mail exactly as she sent it.
I couldn't put it any better.
* * * I have in a shelf in my room closet.. a little bowl i empty my money into when i empty my pockets ( i do not carry a purse ...my change and bills go into my jean pockets:) ) after awhile the bowl gets full of change i don't put back into my pockets... so i put it into a little plastic baggie.. and give it away... for myself there is a couple on the first floor of our condo building who run a utility store.. they work 7 days a week.. 8am to 7pm all year round..365 days even on holidays... they both are in their sixty's , he does delivery wth a little cart to the building and neighboring buildings... to mostly senior citizen's... they also have a son in his early 20's who is psychotic and schizophrenic who will not take his meds..still living at home which causes them much grief..!
So when my bowl gets full i give her my change, at first she refused.. but i insisted and told her she was doing me a favor.. since i never end up rolling it.. and it's just in my way...
It's up to you to find someone you think will benefit and put the change to good use...besides, synchronicity or Law of Attraction always put the right people on our road, it's up to us to ask and keep our eyes and heart open !
Thanks Karl for all your emails!! now that is one heck of a big RAK !!! you inspire me daily!! What a privilege!! Be well - LouiseLabels: random acts of kindness Welcome to another Monday morning Random Act of Kindness!
And today's suggestion... is that you help me! :)
Every Monday I sit down to write a new RAK. Sometimes it's easy. Other times it's more than a little tough. (Presumably on those weeks when I've been less than kind to others!)
And so...
Today's RAK is to inspire others, by sending ME your RAK recommendations!
What "Random Act of Kindness" would YOU like to suggest to those reading this blog?

I'll publish the best ones over the coming weeks.
Send me your suggestions, at karl@karlmoore.com - and put "Karl Moore" in the subject line to ensure it gets through to me.
Thanks for your time!Labels: random acts of kindness Welcome to another Monday-morning Random Act of Kindness!
Two weeks ago, I received a letter from someone.
Some five years ago, this individual had been going through some major problems in his life. And, at that point, I randomly bumped into this person-- and helped him to pull through, and make some critical, life-altering decisions.
This individual (whom I'm not really allowed to name) sent me a letter recently.
In it, he thanked me for my assistance. He said he wouldn't be where he was right now without my guidance. He said I made a huge difference to him, that he'd never forget me, and that I practically saved his life.
What a letter.
What a tear-jerker of a letter. How can someone be so beautifully open?
It was wonderful to receive.
And that's why today I'm suggesting that YOU write a thank you note to someone that has made a difference in YOUR life...
It may be a kind teacher. A supportive sibling. An ex-lover. A wise old friend. An associate from overseas. It could be a former boss. Or even someone that you don't really like now... but that still helped you move forward at some point.
Think of that person.
YES --- that one. That one just there.
Think of them.
And then write them a letter (or e-mail).
It'll change THEIR life, for sure. And probably yours even more.
Remember, share your RAK stories at the official forum: http://www.karlforum.com/index.php?board=5.0
Happy Monday! :)Labels: random acts of kindness Here's a Random Act of Kindness with one very special recipient...
You!
Today, be kind to yourself.
Treat yourself. Buy yourself lunch. Eat lunch on your own whilst reading a book. Nibble at your favourite chocolate bar.
And if you can't spare the time... do something with me RIGHT NOW...
Sit back. Now. Close your eyes. And take a DEEP BREATH in... and connect with that breath. Feel grounded. Feel earthed. Feel just as wonderful as you do.
Spend a couple of minutes just enjoying being.
Today's Random Act of Kindness is all about you.
It's whatever YOU want it to be.
Because sometimes we forget.
And remember...
"My religion is simple. My religion is kindness"
-- Dalai LamaLabels: random acts of kindness Welcome to another Monday morning RAK!
And today's suggested Random Act of Kindness is simplicity itself. It doesn't cost a penny, but can certainly be a struggle to do.
It's just this...
Say "I love you" to your parents.
Face-to-face. In a text message. Over the telephone. Even in a prayer, if they're no longer living on earth, or you don't know who they are.
But say it.
Parents are the one thing every single one of us has in common.
Let's celebrate it today by telling them how much you care.

Happy Monday! :)Labels: random acts of kindness Welcome to another Monday Random Act of Kindness!
And today's suggestion is probably the most often quoted example of a RAK, yet something I've never featured here at Karl Blog.com.
That is.... Pay for someone behind you.
If you're at a motorway toll booth, pay for the car behind you also. If you're at Nero's, ask the person behind you what coffee they're drinking, and pay for it. If you're at a newsagents buying a morning paper, asking what the person behind reads, and get it for them.
And if you can, print out these little RAK cards and pass one to them:
http://www.actsofkindness.org/inspiration/graphics.asp
... Just so they know what hit 'em.
You'll raise a smile, feel great -- and it'll give you a strange thrill worth much more than the few pennies you spent sharing a little happiness.
Enjoy - and Happy Monday!
(PS. Read more RAKs by clicking here, or share your RAK stories online here.)Labels: random acts of kindness Welcome to another Monday Random Act of Kindness...And today's suggestion is to share the whole Random Act of Kindness concept! Now, we all know what a RAK is. It's a random "thing" that you do to make someone else smile, without expecting anything in return. They're great... And, since starting this feature way back in December 2006, I've received a whole bundle of stories about how people have been using RAK's to generate little smiles all across the globe. In fact, the "RAK Map" documents our success: The larger the red dot, the more people in that region discovering and implementing RAKs.
So, for today's RAK, simply share the whole concept....
Forward this e-mail to someone you know -- and share your latest RAK experience with them. Post a message to your blog. Add a "RAK thought of the day" to your e-mail signature.
Light a kindness candle -- and let's see if we can spread it all just a little further.
Happy Monday! :)
Labels: random acts of kindness The more random, the better.
That's my motto, at least.
And today's Random Act of Kindness is to do something for someone else that they can't do for themselves!
Yesterday, my Dad took time out of his busy Sunday to visit my new apartment -- and sort out a whole bundle of complex fittings on my "splash and dash" walls.
He came and did a job for me that I really wanted doing... But don't really have the skills to do myself.
So, how could YOU help brighten someone's day?
What job could you do for them that they can't do for themselves?
Could you fix a weak shelf? Build a computer? Proofread an essay? Wash the car? Give a massage?
What skills do YOU have that others could really use?
Even if it's just your COMPANY... such as spending a little time with an elderly neighbour!
Think about it.
And then do it.
(PS. Stop by www.karlforum.com to discover the Random Acts of Kindness board, and share your experience. I haven't been on the forum much recently... sorry, hectic life of late ... I promise I'll be back soon!)Labels: random acts of kindness Welcome to another Random Act of Kindness!
And today I'm suggesting you do something that might just be slightly outside your comfort barrier.
Now... If you're anything like me, you won't like spiders.
And let's be honest: I'm not the only one.
YES, admittedly, I have been known to meet the occassionally lost arachnid, randomly patrolling my toilet... who gives me the fright of my life at three in the morning... and then meets his maker a few short seconds later.
But that's not exactly nice, now, is it?
That's why today's RAK is to SAVE a SPIDER, inspired by my animal-loving friend, Rachel.
So...
The next time you get a sudden jump and are about to *splat*... The next time you spy outside your window and see a big black thing crouched in the corner... The next time you gaze idly up at the ceiling and see something out of the ordinary...
Take TWO MINUTES out of your life... to save his life.
Then, read my starfish story -- and feel proud.
Happy Monday!Labels: random acts of kindness Today's Random Act of Kindness Act is going to cost you!
But, thankfully, just one pound.
Or a dollar. Or a peso. Or 100 base units of whatever currency you're working on.
However TODAY, give £1 of your hard-earned money in the best way you can.
Give it to an appreciative child, and tell them to change the world. Hand it to a Big Issue street seller. Buy a small potted plant for a neighbour.
Grab yourself a lottery ticket and give it to your best friend. Buy a bag of sweets and give them to your co-workers. Purchase a bag of pencils and hairclips, and distribute them to the locals when on holiday in the Dominican Republic.
Change the world in the best way possible...
... With just £1.
How far will your £1 go? :)
(PS. Remember to share your thoughts! Click here to chat about your RAK with other readers.)Labels: random acts of kindness Happy Monday - and welcome to this week's Random Act of Kindness! Now, bringing up children can be exhausting -- especially if the parents have to negotiate difficult circumstances too.
So, here's this week's suggestion...
If you know of parents who would really benefit from a helping hand, offer your support. Volunteer to do the shopping or baby-sit for a few hours to give parents a much welcomed break.
It doesn't take much to restore the smile on an exhausted parent's face -- and you can be sure that your help will be greatly appreciated. Enjoy - and have a great day! :) (PS. What RAK's have you done recently? Share them and inspire others on the Random Acts of Kindness board at Karl Forum.com!) Labels: random acts of kindness Welcome to another Monday Random Act of Kindness! If you're happy to don your boots for this week's challenge, then why not... Become a conservation volunteer for the day! Don't tell yourself that the local council should be sorting everything out. Take it on-board yourself and get involved! Help your local conservation charity by picking up litter or undertaking seasonal jobs such as restoring pathways or planting trees. The smaller environmental charities are always in need of volunteers -- and it's people such as the wonderful RAK'ers that help make the world a better place for everyone to enjoy. And remember, this worthy act of kindness comes with huge benefits ... not only will you'll feel great for performing another RAK, but you'll also enjoy fresh air and the beauty of being in the great outdoors! Happy Monday! :) (PS. What RAK's have you done recently? Share them and inspire others on the Random Acts of Kindness board at Karl Forum.com!) Labels: random acts of kindness Welcome to another glorious Random Act of Kindness to kick-start your week! (If you're pretty new to this blog, I post a Random Act of Kindness every Monday. With over a thousand people reading this every single day, the hope is to change the world in some small way. And if you remember my starfish story, you'll know that every tiny difference really counts.) This week's suggestion is a great act of kindness and doesn't cost much to try out...
When you go shopping, buy a few extra groceries. Make up a small food box full of tinned food and other non-perishable items and donate this to someone who is in need. A lonely neighbour. An elderly individual surviving on benefits. An unexpecting friend.
Find out if there is a food bank in your area that collects groceries for needy people. Your contribution, although costing just a few dollars, might just help someone gain a decent meal today. Enjoy - and THANK YOU! (PS. What RAK's have you done recently? Share them and inspire others on the Random Acts of Kindness board at Karl Forum.com!) Labels: random acts of kindness PS. If you live in the States, go here to donate your organs: http://www.organdonor.gov/donor/Labels: inspiration, random acts of kindness A couple of weeks ago, proposals for changes in the UK organ donation system hit the presses.
It's a suggestion I'd made a year ago...
If someone dies in an accident, automatically presume that they wish to donate their organs.
Yes, allow them to opt-out if they wish. But presume an opt-in.
Currently, only 20% of individuals are registered to donate their organs, yet 70% actually want to donate their organs after they've died.
Part of me blamed the current system.
Who in the world carries a Donor Card anyway??
Then, after a little research, I found out the whole system had changed. You no longer need to carry a card. There's a central registry for those who want to donate organs.
And you can actually register ONLINE.
Just enter your details once and they'll match it up with your NHS details.
It's EASY, and you can "opt-out" again at any time.
So if you're interested, here's the link:
http://www.uktransplant.org.uk/ukt/ how_to_become_a_donor/registration/consent.jsp
It takes about two minutes to do -- and you might just end up saving a life or two.
Happy Thursday!Labels: inspiration, random acts of kindness Welcome to another Random Act of Kindness! How much more pleasant the world is when there is kindness... There are so many people whose lives have been darkened by loss or sadness; just being able to bring a smile to their face or to see their eyes light up after passing on a kind gesture is a wonderful gift.
You can touch the lives of people who are suffering in so many ways but here's one suggestion you can do today...
Spend time listening to a person who is lonely or going through a difficult time. Take them out for the day. Just a visit to a cafe or a park doesn't take much effort and can have the effect of giving someone a much-needed break from their troubles.
You're probably thinking... That's easy. And, of course, it is!
So, give it a try.
Show that you care. Give a little of your time. Simple random acts of kindness like this can really go a long way. Happy Monday! (PS. What RAK's have you done recently? Share them and inspire others on the Random Acts of Kindness board at Karl Forum.com!) Labels: random acts of kindness If you love chocolate, you may find this week's Random Act of Kindness a bit difficult!
Buy a huge box of chocolates and take them into work to share with your colleagues.
Don't wait for a special occasion. Every day is special, right?
So, take in your box of chocs to spread some happiness and share them out with everyone.
The drawback, of course, is that you have to share! You can't hoard your favourites. This is your gift to your friends and colleagues, so hand the box round and give generously.
Chocolate is renowned for stimulating the brain's feel-good centre and will surely brighten up everyone's day at work.
You might not know everyone very well; you might not even get on with some people; but this gesture of kindness will certainly leave an impression.
Alternatively, deliver a box of chocolates as a surprise gift to someone who has been helpful or supportive... or... randomly give a box of chocolates to someone who looks down. Some week's ago, I was randomly sent a box of chocolate and flowers.
Now it's YOUR turn to pass on the kindness...Labels: random acts of kindness Welcome to another Random Act of Kindness!
It's amazing how much kindness we can extend to our fellow humans... But what about animals? Can we not perform random acts of kindness for them too?
Of course we can!
There are many animal charities that rely totally on human kindness so that they can take good care of animals they have rescued.
This week's suggested RAK is to do whatever you can to support them.
Volunteer your time, make a donation or raise some funds for the charities. What you do could rescue the life of a horse, dog, cat or other pets and wildlife, and it doesn't take much to demonstrate your kindness.
You can even do something closer to home... from your garden or outside your lounge window! Erect a bird-feeding station to offer some food and water to wild-birds. It doesn't seem like you’re doing much but your kindness and consideration could protect bird-life - especially during winter months when nature's food is scarce. And let me also say...
"THANK YOU!"
... For doing so wonderfully with all of these random acts of kindness so far!Labels: random acts of kindness Welcome to your weekly Random Act of Kindness!
And today, I'd like to start by asking...
"Are you an avid reader?"
Do you buy books and magazines like they're going out of fashion?
If so, what do you do when you've finished reading?
This week's RAK is to suggest that you consider passing on your reading material for others' benefit, inspiration or enjoyment!
There are plenty of options here...
1. Take the books / magazines to a charity shop. 2. Call in at your local retirement home and donate the reading material to any keen reader residents. 3. Ask your local hospital if they require magazines or books for their patients. 4. If you have a selection of children's books, consider donating them to a local school for their library. 5. Leave a favourite book somewhere -- one that has inspired you -- for someone else to pick up. 6. Donate your reading material to a good cause to sell at a charity fair. 7. Pass your magazines or books on to family, friends or a neighbour.
I especially like option two.
So, if you've not yet tried any of the RAK's on this blog, why not have a go at this one?
It's INCREDIBLY EASY -- and it could be the start of something big for you.
Thank you -- and enjoy! :)Labels: random acts of kindness Welcome to another Monday Random Act of Kindness!
For today's RAK, I'd like to suggest that you appreciate your mentor.
We've all experienced really wonderful teachers and mentors. People from whom we learn and truly appreciate.
As an example, I've really learned much from one of my teachers -- Mechthild Ruggier, of Sedona Results
Over the past two years, I've studied the works of late spiritual master, Lester Levenson, with Mechthild. I regularly speak with her by e-mail -- and she goes out of her way to assist me whenever I have questions.
Even when I know it's inconvenient for her, she insists on helping!
What an amazing example of a person who really cares!
As I was leaving a recent course with Mechthild, she called me back and very deeply said: "Karl, I appreciate you."
Wow. How powerful was that!
I later sent her an e-mail to explain how much I also really appreciated her kindness, her warmth, and the true passion with which she teaches her subject.
And so today's suggestion is to...
Give a heart-felt "THANK YOU" to your mentor or teacher.
Okay, so most teachers are paid for what they do. But the best teachers go out of their way to whole-heartedly support their students in their learning.
If you have the budget, send them a little random thank you card, alongside a box of chocolates.
You'll be surprised at what a difference it can make.Labels: lester levenson, random acts of kindness Welcome to another fantastic Random Act of Kindness! (If you're new to the blog, I send out a fresh RAK every Monday morning.) And today, I'd like you to consider... What signals are you giving out to the people in your life? Do your children, family and friends see the genuine kind person you are? This week's suggested RAK is to become a RAK role model, so that you show others how random acts of kindness can really change people's lives. Involve your children! This is especially important as today, more than any other time, children need guidance so that they grow into wonderful, kind-hearted human beings. It's what the world really needs! Let your friends and the rest of your family see your good deeds. ... And infect your friends with the kindness bug! Remember, the goal isn't to show-off or proclaim what a good person you are. You need to be subtle and show your genuine kindness. Mention how good you feel being able to do kind deeds. Reinforce that you're not seeking anything in return because how it makes you feel is more than enough. Emphasize how random acts of kindness can change people's lives. With a bit of luck, they'll take on board the kindness philosophy and start doing more random kind deeds themselves. Then send them to this blog and get them to join in the fun! Happy Monday! :) Labels: random acts of kindness I love late comedian Bob Monkhouse.
I even have one of his books on public speaking, crammed with those one-liners he was so famous for.
If you live in the UK, you may have heard about his recent posthumous ad, in which he appears in his own graveyard promoting prostate cancer.
If you haven't seen it yet, visit this site...
http://www.giveafewbob.org/
The ad is a work of genius, and watching it is certainly an uncanny experience.
In the ad, "Bob" helps to promote the fact that although it kills just as many people as breast cancer, prostate cancer only receives a percentage of the research money.
And if you can, give a few pounds anonymously, via PayPal.
I just did.
I'd like to end with one of Bob's famous one-liners.
"They all laughed when I said I wanted to become a comedian. They're not laughing now!"Labels: inspiration, random acts of kindness, videos Welcome to another glorious Random Act of Kindness! And so, today, let me ask... How often do you stop to send a letter of thanks to someone who has proved helpful to you?
Do you find that you complain more than you express gratitude?
If you focus on highlighting the positives, you’ll find you have less to grumble about. And you can really make a big difference to someone’s day!
Write to someone or a company or organisation that deserves praise. Thank them for the service, help or support they have provided. Focus on all their positive points.
Make an effort and your kindness will be appreciated, possibly in more ways than you could possibly know. Happy Monday!

Labels: random acts of kindness Welcome to another Monday Random Act of Kindness! Today, I'd like to suggest... Why not extend your kindness to the planet and plant a tree? Hey -- dedicate it to someone special! There are several tree planting schemes available in the UK and overseas. It doesn’t cost much to do, and in most cases, you can visit the woodland and a certificate is presented to the person you have dedicated the tree to.
What a great way to express your kindness -- and it’s great for the environment too!

Today's kindness challenge is for the workplace. And it's EASY to do.
Simply, do a chore at work that someone else usually has to do.
Take that pile of letters down to the mailroom. Visit the local supermarket to replenish kitchen supplies. Make that telephone call no-one else wants to make.
Do it, enjoy it - and watch your actions raise a secret smile.
Who knows. Your actions might just change the world.Labels: random acts of kindness Welcome to another Random Act of Kindness!
And yes, alas, sometimes these challenges will cost you.
Today's karma challenge is to buy someone lunch. And not someone who you always buy lunch for. But someone new.
Someone who'll think "Hey, that was nice!" as a result of your genorosity.
It's not difficult... It might just push your comfort boundary...
And it'll cost you $10 at most.
Surely a fair price for sending a little kindness out into the world?
Happy Monday!!Labels: random acts of kindness Welcome to another (backdated) Monday Random Act of Kindness!
Back in primary school, I remember singing a fantastic little song...
Love is something if you give it away Give it away, give it away Love is something if you give it away You end up having more
It's just like a magic penny Hold it tight & you won't have any Lend it, spend it & you'll have so many They'll roll all over the floor!
Today's Random Act of Kindness is to...
Give someone a magic penny.
Don't worry. You have plenty to give! :)Labels: random acts of kindness |
