| | | | | Welcome to Friday Factoid!
And today, there is absolutely NO overriding theme to the barrage of nonsense I'm throwing your way.
Did you know that every day 200 million people make love, 400,000 babies are born -- and 140,000 people die?
How about Google? Did you know the word "google" is actually a common mathematical term for a number with a million zeros. True!
It cost just $7 million to build the Titanic - but $200 million to make the movie!
The MGM lion that roars at the beginning of many movies is called... Leo.
And women, apparently, blink almost twice as much as men. Unbelievable!
Happy Friday! :)Labels: factoids As some of you know, it was my birthday at the end of last month! :)
I had a great little meal in Durham, with around twenty of my best friends. Here are a few quick snapshots...

It's my birthday? It's my BIRTHDAY! :O
And as Plautus said: "Let us celebrate the occasion with wine and sweet words" ....

It's a surprise birthday party! Yay!
You can't see them, however my sister scattered pictures of me as a naked child all over the table. It was... embarassing.
And, yes, I'm the only one not looking at the camera there. My head obscures about ten people.

A few of my good friends -- the fab Rachel, Denice, Maree Lee.

More great friends: Richard the Dance Meister, Vanessa, Me!
Talking of dancing: after the meal, we all headed out to the cheesiest disco in town to show that -- despite advancing age -- we're still full of spunk!

Me and Mark Robertson (son of agony aunt, Denise Robertson) -- after much dancing!
Of course, the celebrations didn't stop there...
Just a day earlier, I'd been dining with my parents -- who had much fun circumnavigating a Chinese meal! :)

Always laughing and smiling :)

And of course me and my sister -- totally and utterly stuffed, I hasten to add!
That's all for today.... :)
Enjoy, and HAPPY TUESDAY!Labels: birthdays, durham, fun, pictures Welcome to another Monday Random Act of Kindness!
For today's RAK, I'd like to suggest that you appreciate your mentor.
We've all experienced really wonderful teachers and mentors. People from whom we learn and truly appreciate.
As an example, I've really learned much from one of my teachers -- Mechthild Ruggier, of Sedona Results
Over the past two years, I've studied the works of late spiritual master, Lester Levenson, with Mechthild. I regularly speak with her by e-mail -- and she goes out of her way to assist me whenever I have questions.
Even when I know it's inconvenient for her, she insists on helping!
What an amazing example of a person who really cares!
As I was leaving a recent course with Mechthild, she called me back and very deeply said: "Karl, I appreciate you."
Wow. How powerful was that!
I later sent her an e-mail to explain how much I also really appreciated her kindness, her warmth, and the true passion with which she teaches her subject.
And so today's suggestion is to...
Give a heart-felt "THANK YOU" to your mentor or teacher.
Okay, so most teachers are paid for what they do. But the best teachers go out of their way to whole-heartedly support their students in their learning.
If you have the budget, send them a little random thank you card, alongside a box of chocolates.
You'll be surprised at what a difference it can make.Labels: lester levenson, random acts of kindness I want to be honest.
I never knew what those Eastern gurus meant when they went on about "quietening the mind."
I'm sure you've heard the phrase often. They talk about it a lot in Yoga and deeper forms of meditation.
And inside I always thought... "Forget that! I'll have enough quiet mind when I'm dead!"
What's the point?
And now, suddenly, I realize.
A couple of days, I wrote a blog post called "Who Are You?" -- a post which prompted much response. In it, I spoke of discovering the realization that you are not "me," nor the body, nor your experiences, nor your memory, nor your brain.
You're none of these things. You're just the freedom that is awareness.
Everything else is a limiting thought.
(If you haven't read the original post already, please do so: "Who Are You?")
In other words, your natural state is blissful happiness. But we get blocked by limiting thoughts of every kind -- even the thoughts we think of as good.
It's the brain butting in -- and taking us away from the awareness and presence that we are right now.
And it's NOT about avoiding reality, as I'd thought previously. It's just attempting to "remember" that we are not these things we pretend to be limited by.
You can check it by seeing exactly what is in this moment.
All you are is awareness. Which is without memory.
That's the important bit: You are simply the awareness that is right now.
So now, to me at least, "quietening the mind" has new meaning.
It's about "reminding" ourselves that we are not the mind, and that are thoughts are limiting, whether we think of them as good or bad.
And that brings a massive amount of freedom all at once... and all of your supposed "problems" drop away in an instant.
Here's an experiment...
If you'd like to try working on this, simply ask yourself the following question about everything you run into today that causes a stir in your tummy...
"Is (this) just a limiting thought?"
Or...
"Is (this) just a label?"
Or even...
"Without going into memory, does (this) really exist?"
I do this with everything. Even the most deepest and private of labels -- even spirituality, the soul, love -- all of these things are just limiting thoughts. Release on them.
I asked myself these questions for just 30 seconds last night -- and had the deepest, most blissful sleep ever.
So try it yourself.
Quieten the mind -- and live more than ever before!Labels: inspiration, self-development Welcome to another super-fun, super-quick Friday Factoid!
And today, I'm asking the question...
"Can blood be passed from one generation to another?"
Now, you're thinking this is a trick question, right? Pah! Would I do that? :)
Think about it. Bloodlines. Bad blood. Royal blood. Blue blood. Mixed blood.
Surely your blood DNA is passed from one generation to another, right?
Well - strangely, it isn't.
Red blood cells are the only kind of cells in your body that don't have any DNA information whatsoever, as they don't have a nuclei.
So there's absolutely no heredity coded in your blood whatsoever, no matter what dumbed-down science programs will tell you.
Incidentally, the blood cells of all other animals do contain DNA. Except, curiously, our brothers... the Salamander.
Just a quick post today. Have a great weekend! :)
(Got your own Factoids to share? Post them on the Factoid Fun board at Karl Forum.com!)Labels: factoids What messages on this blog have had the most impact on you?
Every day for almost a year now, I've posted messages designed to inspire, uplift and develop. Ironically, more often than not they've had a profound impact on me.
Yesterday's post "Who Are You?" made a lot of people really think -- and inspired around forty messages in my inbox, as well as chat at Karl Forum.com.
And so, today, I'm posting a list of the blog posts that have raised a good chunk of feedback -- typically thirty messages or more.
Maybe -- just maybe -- these will have an impact on you, too.
Enjoy - and Happy Thursday! :)

Every single day, our thoughts limit how we move forward in the world.
We don't apply for that job, because we think we're not good enough. We continue that drug addiction, because we don't think we're strong enough to break it off. We keep doing the "same old, same old" because that's just you...
Right?
Today, I'd like to address the underlying root behind all limiting thoughts. Behind all of the suffering and the stories we tell ourselves, is the idea that...
There is such a thing as "Me."
Now, of course, that sounds crazy on first reading. But in many Eastern philosophies, it's the core underlying message behind their whole teaching.
Let's think about it for a moment.
Look at yourself right now. Is there really a "me" in this current moment?
You might think that you're the body. Or a spirit inside that body. Or maybe something that extends beyond the universe. Perhaps your belief is that you're part of a big mass of consciousness.
Whatever you think, that's great. But also consider that it may also be just another limiting belief.
So, just for the moment, drop all of your labels. Forget about the idea of a "Karl." Or a "me." Or anything you're related to.
And just for now, witness what is happening.
If you really look hard enough, WITHOUT going into memory (even for a moment!), you'll realize that all that is with you right now is awareness.
You're seeing. You're hearing. You're experiencing.
But in this particular moment, you're NOT Karl. You're NOT limited. You're NOT addicted.
When we stop identify with the "Me" that we're all so desperately attached to, we lose the ego -- and suddenly all of the things we think define us drop away.
All that we are is what is here in this present moment.
Think about it.
There isn't a "me" to have an addiction. There isn't a "me" to have sadness. And that also means there isn't even a "me" to have happiness, too!
It also means there isn't a "me" to have any of the long-standing problems and issues you believe you have. They're just limiting thoughts. In the awareness that you are, without going into memory, those issues don't exist.
In other words...
If you really drop the labels and notice what is really here, you'll discover...
All there is is the inherent freedom that you already are.
Every single thought is a limitation.
Let go of the limitation -- and discover the freedom you can only ever be.
Give this some really deep thought today. Re-read this post a few times.
And smile... because you are.
Lester Levenson once said...
"We are all unlimited being, limited only by the concepts of limitation we hold in mind. So stop being what you are not, a limited mind and a limited body, and just be what you are -- an infinite, totally free, grand and flowing being, whole and complete."
Enjoy :)Labels: inspiration, lester levenson, self-development Let me remind you of a little ditty I've published previously on the blog...
Thoughts lead to acts. Acts lead to habits. Habits lead to character. And our character will determine our eternal destiny.
So, let me ask you a question.
When did you last purposefully try to setup your own new habit?
I created a new habit earlier this evening.
I purposefully set about deciding that I needed to change certain areas of my life, and created a new "ritual" whereby I spend half-an-hour before bed working on some of my "releasing work" -- and ten minutes in a morning, to set the intention of the day.
I also use my own Motivator software to help me keep my new habits and rituals on track! (Download the software yourself. It's fr-ee!)
I'm usually pretty successful with my new habits, so I'm looking forward to seeing this one pan out. I'm sure it'll have a very positive effect on my life over the next month or so.
So, just consider it...
Do YOU want to make change in your life?
Do YOU need to create fresh habits to help mould your future?
And if you do, why not plan them... starting TODAY?Labels: inspiration Welcome to another fantastic Random Act of Kindness! (If you're new to the blog, I send out a fresh RAK every Monday morning.) And today, I'd like you to consider... What signals are you giving out to the people in your life? Do your children, family and friends see the genuine kind person you are? This week's suggested RAK is to become a RAK role model, so that you show others how random acts of kindness can really change people's lives. Involve your children! This is especially important as today, more than any other time, children need guidance so that they grow into wonderful, kind-hearted human beings. It's what the world really needs! Let your friends and the rest of your family see your good deeds. ... And infect your friends with the kindness bug! Remember, the goal isn't to show-off or proclaim what a good person you are. You need to be subtle and show your genuine kindness. Mention how good you feel being able to do kind deeds. Reinforce that you're not seeking anything in return because how it makes you feel is more than enough. Emphasize how random acts of kindness can change people's lives. With a bit of luck, they'll take on board the kindness philosophy and start doing more random kind deeds themselves. Then send them to this blog and get them to join in the fun! Happy Monday! :) Labels: random acts of kindness Over the past few days, our experiment on the "Love and Acceptance" forum has been outstanding.
There has had a good dozen individuals posting on the board, showcasing their inner dark side. And I've had treble that number in personal messages -- each of which I've responded to with a private voice message.
(If you haven't got a reply yet, I have a small backlog, and ten messages still to respond to.)
And allow me an observation...
Despite what you might think, every single "absolute dark secret" that you have is shared.
The top "dark secrets" surrounded sexuality issues, loveless marriages, secret affairs, guilt, and money. I had about five of each of these.
In other words, your worries AREN'T unique.
They're don't necessarily even NEED to be covered up, because there's someone out there experiencing them also -- ready to support you.
So if you'd like to join in the experiment, then visit the new board at:

And unveil yourself. Empty your heart. Show your dark side.

Did you know that, as an adult, you have 206 bones in your body... ?
But when you were a child, you actually had 300 bones!
Weird!
So, what happened to those 94 bones between childhood and adulthood?
Well, it's perhaps not totally true that "children" have 300 bones...
In fact, children have a different number of bones at different times in their lives. To generalise, you could say that about 300 bones become 206 bones -- but even that is not a simple process of consolidation.
As a child grows, bones are fusing into one another on different time scales while, at the same time, new bones are developing.
In fact, bone development is a process of constant change...
It's quite true that the skeleton is a very solid structure - and for good reason - but the first thing to understand is that bone is actually a dynamic tissue.
Every day of our lives, some bone is being broken down and some is being built up. The whole process is called re-modelling.
When a human is born, the bones are all in different stages of these "mineralization and ossification processes."
As time goes by, some bones that develop close to one another actually fuse into a single bone. And other bones, whose cartilage templates didn't even exist at birth, slowly take form.
It's all part of a process that is initiated before birth but for many people continues into their late twenties.
It just shows how amazing the human body really is!
Happy Friday!
(Did you know that the Mona Lisa has no eyebrows? Honestly! Go check! Got your own Factoids to share? Post them on the Factoid Fun board at Karl Forum.com!)Labels: factoids How often are we dishonest about our true selves?
How many times do we find ourselves shielding parts of our personality from the world, in fear of what they'll think?
We've all got secrets.
I know I have!
We think that if other people knew our dark, shadow side, they'd hate us.
Nobody would like someone who did that, surely?
Well, maybe... just maybe... you're completely wrong.
Maybe people will love you just the way you are, flaws and all.
Wouldn't that be crazy?
Somebody loving you completely, and fully, for exactly who you are?
Today, I'd like to give you the chance to be completely honest about who you are - and allow me to send you my personal love and acceptance.
You'll also find that by unveiling yourself, you'll feel a million times better about being in your own skin. You'll find yourself acting more in integrity - and those "repressed" emotions will simply drop away. The pain disappears.
So, here's what you can do to enjoy a little extra love and acceptance for the perfect and flawed individual you are...
Firstly, there's a new forum board at www.KarlForum.com (the forum for this blog).
It's called Receive Love & Acceptance and you can anonymously post an honest explanation of the supposed "dark side" of yourself.
Share what you believe to be your darkest secrets. Tell the world what causes the most resistance inside. Explain what you're repressing and how you feel.
Then allow the great members on the forum to give you their true love and acceptance for just being you.
Visit this new board online at:
http://www.karlforum.com/index.php?board=8.0
Secondly, I'd like to offer you my love and acceptance personally...
Just mail me at karl@karlmoore.com. Put BPSF in the subject line to get past the junk mail filter.
Unveil yourself openly and honestly. Don't hold back. I won't judge on anything, and won't offer guidance. I will however be fully accepting of you -- and will record a private audio message for everyone that gets in touch. It's completely anonymous and your details will never be shared.
Make the move. Enjoy being honest and completely open for once.
You'll be absolutely AMAZED at the effect if has on you.
I promise!
I look forward to hearing from you :) I love late comedian Bob Monkhouse.
I even have one of his books on public speaking, crammed with those one-liners he was so famous for.
If you live in the UK, you may have heard about his recent posthumous ad, in which he appears in his own graveyard promoting prostate cancer.
If you haven't seen it yet, visit this site...
http://www.giveafewbob.org/
The ad is a work of genius, and watching it is certainly an uncanny experience.
In the ad, "Bob" helps to promote the fact that although it kills just as many people as breast cancer, prostate cancer only receives a percentage of the research money.
And if you can, give a few pounds anonymously, via PayPal.
I just did.
I'd like to end with one of Bob's famous one-liners.
"They all laughed when I said I wanted to become a comedian. They're not laughing now!"Labels: inspiration, random acts of kindness, videos Life is definitely what you make it... Yet so many of us never reach our full potential, simply because of their fears.
Are you holding yourself back with self-limiting thoughts?
Are you too frightened to take a risk?
Creating a wonderful life ... the life that YOU want means that you've got to break free from the safety of those comfort zones and face the challenges and big adventure with courage.
Everyone who has ever succeeded in life has, at some point, faced their fears and overcome them. This includes people who run businesses, people who overcome illness, people who excel in sports or other activities and anyone aiming to follow their passions and goals. Through effort, determination and fearlessness, they are all on a journey of their own making. And you're no different.
In the words of Susan Jeffers, you've got to face your fears and do it anyway. Remember, fear is just an emotion...
It is often conjured up, not out of reality but from an over-active mind.
Seneca said "We are more often frightened than hurt; and we suffer more from imagination than from reality."
How true is that.
Look back at any situation that had you trembling with fear, such as taking an exam or giving a speech or undertaking something for the first time. You'll find that the fear response was likely to be far more exaggerated than the actual reality of the event. It's a label, rather than a genuine experience.
If left unchecked, fear can take over your life and stop you living to the full. So, if you're about to undertake a task that makes you fearful, just acknowledge the fear and focus on the practicalities of what you need to do. Divert your thoughts from the negative fear to positive action.
You'll surprise yourself at what you can do!
Have a fearless day!

Labels: inspiration, quotes, self-development How many of us beat ourselves up on a daily basis?
Blimey. I certainly do!
"Ohh, why did you say that! Now she thinks you're a total Muppet. Idiot!"
"My nose is definitely out of line. I look terrible!"
"I just can't quit. I constantly fall into the same patterns. I'm a real ass!"
It's crazy, and it's continuous!
Well, today I'd like to suggest something that most people will have never considered.
Just for the moment, can you try giving yourself praise and thanks for beating yourself up so well?
After all, you're incredibly good at it... Right?
Of course you are!
So, congratulate yourself on doing it so well. It really is quite the accomplishment to do it to the extent you do, right?
Of course!
Now, why not try congratulating yourself on being as flawed as you are?
We've all got issues that we let hold us back. So, just for the moment, give yourself praise for being as wonderfully flawed as you are.
You hate all of those flaws, right? Well, just give yourself praise and approval for holding onto that feeling of hatred and resistance for so long.
You've been doing wonderfully so far in your life. Only a really strong person would hold on to a strong feeling like that for so long!
And now, just for the moment, could you give yourself some approval for just being as perfect and as flawed as you are?
Maybe just because it's a very smart thing to do.
Take this exercise seriously.
Most people have never taken the time out to honestly give themselves approval for being both the perfect and flawed being they are.
By praising your negative emotions, rather than attempting to suppress them - we feel so much better, and become more in harmony with the beautiful duality that life provides.
Enjoy your day - and give yourself approval even if you don't!
Labels: inspiration, self-development Welcome to another glorious Random Act of Kindness! And so, today, let me ask... How often do you stop to send a letter of thanks to someone who has proved helpful to you?
Do you find that you complain more than you express gratitude?
If you focus on highlighting the positives, you’ll find you have less to grumble about. And you can really make a big difference to someone’s day!
Write to someone or a company or organisation that deserves praise. Thank them for the service, help or support they have provided. Focus on all their positive points.
Make an effort and your kindness will be appreciated, possibly in more ways than you could possibly know. Happy Monday!

Labels: random acts of kindness Today, I'd like to inspire you more than ever before.
By opening your eyes to the true wonder of the universe you're living in.
And it's totally factual too. There's not a mention of "consciousness" or "freedom" or "beingness" in sight. Science types are totally safe today.
Now, Earth is pretty big.
I'm sure we'd all agree with that.
But in comparison with the other planets in our solar system, it's certainly not huge.

Just look at how massive Jupiter is in comparison with our tiny Earth. It's GINORMOUS!
But do you think it stops there?
You think things can't get bigger?

Look at this picture. The big orange ball is Arcturus, a star in the Big Dipper constellation.
Click on this picture to view the full sized version. Jupiter is about 1 pixel in size. So small in fact you can hardly see it.
And Earth is literally invisible at this scale!
But wait.

Just check this out. The red star here is Antares, from the Scorpius constellation.
And look at the star just left of Rigel... it's Arcturus, the huge star in the previous image!
The once-massive Jupiter is literally invisible at this point.
And get this.
Antares is STILL only the sixteenth brightest star in the night sky.
Not only that, we're still only considering our own galaxy.
Here's the Hubble Telescope ultra-deep field infrared view of the countless galaxies that exist billions of light years away...

Be amazed.
I look at these images and literally well up with tears. It puts things into perspective.
And so now let me ask...
How big are YOUR problems?
What have you come up against recently that seems absolutely impossible to overcome?
Stop wasting your time!!
Get out there, LIVE, enjoy life, be the freedom you are, and DON'T get lost in your petty problems!
Enjoy... And prepare to continue being in awe of the world around you!Labels: inspiration Welcome to another amazing Friday Factoid -- where curious facts are uncovered, and urban myths are blasted for good!
Now... Blue Moon ...
Yes, you've heard the song.
But is there really such a thing as a blue Moon?
According to modern folklore, a "blue Moon" is the second full moon in a calendar month.
Usually months have only one full moon, but occasionally a second one sneaks in. This happens every two and a half years, on average.
For your interest, the next blue Moon is June 30th 2007. And December 31st 2009 is the one after that!
And that's how most intelligent people explain away the phrase "once in a blue Moon."
But why is it called a blue Moon?
The term "blue Moon" has been around a long time, well over 400 years, according to the Oxford English Dictionary. The first reference to a blue moon comes from a proverb recorded in 1528:
- If they say the Moon is blue, - We must believe that it is true.
Saying the moon was blue was equivalent to saying the Moon was made of green cheese; it indicated an obvious absurdity.
Then, in the 19th century, the phrase "until a blue Moon" developed, meaning "never" - and it's meaning continued to develop into the "once in a blue Moon" that we use today.
However, there are times when the moon has genuinely looked blue -- usually down to masses of dust in the atmos.
When the Indonesian volcano Krakatoa exploded in 1883, its dust turned sunsets green and the Moon blue all around the world for the best part of two years.
And in 1927, the Indian monsoons were late arriving and the extra-long dry season blew up enough dust for a blue Moon. Oh, and Moons in north-eastern North America turned blue in 1951 when huge forest fires in western Canada threw smoke particles up into the sky.
But, of course, these events were all pretty rare.
Once in a blue Moon, really.
Happy Friday! :)
(Got your own Factoids to share? Post them on the Factoid Fun board at Karl Forum.com!)
Labels: factoids Yesterday, in my post "They're Just Words," I spoke of the power of labels.Often, we attach "labels" to experiences, rather than just experiencing them. And that stops us enjoying them fully. We're too stuck in the words, rather than what's behind the words. You are read more of my writing about labels here and here. Today... I'm going to PROVE that these labels are controlling your life.Below, find an image with various coloured words upon it. As quickly as you can, I want you to look at each word and say out loud the COLOR of the word.
So if a word is coloured red, you should say "RED!"
Doesn't sound difficult, does it?
Here goes...
Have you done it yet? If not, try it out!
Notice what happens?
You look at the yellow-coloured "Red" word, and rather than experiencing the "yellow" and then translating it into the word "yellow," you see "Red" and instantly say out loud "Red!"
You react to the label... and NOT to the experience!
It's an awesome revelation, and this particular experiment is based on something known as the Stroop Effect.
So, let me ask you a question.
What do you think happens when you show this to a child that hasn't learned to read yet?
To someone that hasn't yet developed their self-restricting "labels"?
You guessed it.
Happy Wednesday! :) Labels: inspiration, self-development Have you ever had a spiritually-enlightening moment, when you sat back and observed...
"It's all only words."
I've spoken many times on this blog about how "labels" can really limit our experience.
Labels such as "good" and "bad" .... "pain" ... "happiness" ... "marriage" ... even "self-development" ...
Yes, labels have purpose.
They're designed to help make life easier, by arranging experiences into pigeon-holes that we can easily identify.
But more often than not, by using a particular term, we end up trying to force ourselves into that pigeon-hole... regardless of what we're actually experiencing!
Here's an example...
Have you ever had an ache in your body, and suddenly realized that you were in pain? Then you focused on it more, and it was definitely painful... you're stressed, concerned, unable to concentrate. It's definitely pain.
Hey -- you're in PAIN!
I know that I've done that many, many times -- and I'm sure I'll continue to do it, too!
But maybe "pain" is just a label. Maybe all you're really encountering is an experience... an experience that you have labelled as pain, therefore your mind "works it up" to ensure you get all of the mental and bodily stress associated with pain.
After all, your mind would hate to be wrong!
So...
Labels are limiting.
And here's a thought...
Maybe every single word you use, or have ever used, is just a label.
Maybe ever single word means you're going into memory, and thereby temporarily stepping outside of the freedom you inherently are.
I'm not saying that in order to be spiritually free, you have to be a mute!
But rather, by being aware that WORDS are merely LABELS... you can learn not to attach as much importance to them as you do.
And maybe you could begin noticing more the actual experience BEHIND the words.
After all... and this is the really important point...
They're just words.
(PS. Tomorrow I'm going to show you the proof that words and labels are ruling your life. It's a little experiment that will amaze you. Stay tuned for that!)Labels: inspiration, self-development Welcome to another Monday Random Act of Kindness! Today, I'd like to suggest... Why not extend your kindness to the planet and plant a tree? Hey -- dedicate it to someone special! There are several tree planting schemes available in the UK and overseas. It doesn’t cost much to do, and in most cases, you can visit the woodland and a certificate is presented to the person you have dedicated the tree to.
What a great way to express your kindness -- and it’s great for the environment too!

Labels: random acts of kindness Are you still on target for achieving your life goals -- or have you drifted off-course?
Do you make resolutions only to find them broken within days?
Having good intentions is one thing, but they are nothing without the vital ingredients of action and determination.
If you find yourself stumbling at every hurdle and your goal is still far away in the distance, it’s time to take stock and re-focus.
Start off with a daily mantra...
"I CAN do it!"
Sweep away those niggling doubts and take a positive stance.
Yes, it’s may be tough. Yes, it may take energy … But remind yourself … How much do you want to achieve your goals? Really, how much do you want it?
Or, my favourite lemon-squeeze question...
"Do you want it to be like it is right now forever?"
Visualise your future achievements and imagine yourself getting closer by the day.
Every time you follow your intentions with action, you grow closer to your dream situation.
So, affirm, affirm, affirm … every single day!
Artist Henry Moore, once said: "The first hole made through a stone is a revelation."
To achieve your goals, you need to keep cutting and chipping and drilling and boring away, just like a sculptor, and with each action, you will start to see those revelations that will bring about the desired result.
So... What are you waiting for?
Have a wonderful day!
Labels: inspiration, quotes, self-development A quick Friday Factoid this week!
On Tuesday morning, for the first and only time in history, the date and time will be as follows...
05/06/07 08:09:10 How cool is that?
I put this in my diary some time ago and really wanted to share it today. Pass it onto your friends. Make a wish!
And make sure you remember it as you're going to work on Tuesday!
Of course, for the US, with the reverse listing of the day and month, it'll be 06/05/07 -- which isn't nearly half as fun.
Happy Friday! :)Labels: factoids Slightly off-topic post today, but...
Would you like to work on my team?
I'm currently looking for a world-class site Web designer to join my fantastic gang of happy folk!
Right now, I have a wonderful designer on my staff. He's called Nomi, and he's responsible for practically *every* Web design you see associated with myself or any of our company sites.
Here's some of his work...
-- http://www.karlmoore.com/ -- http://www.selfhelpstreet.com/ -- http://www.privacy-central.com/ -- http://www.movieinamonth.com/
Over the past 18 months, I've desperately searched for someone that can match Nomi's talent.
It seems nobody can!
I've literally reviewed thousands of design portfolios, but I haven't found a second decent designer yet.
Are YOU a wonderful Web designer?
Or do you perhaps know a great designer who's looking for work?
If you do, then I'd like to hear about it! :)
(Yes, posting to my blog is a last ditch attempt. I've tried Elance, Rent-a-Coder, private companies, the works!)
My e-mail is karl@karlmoore.com.
Be sure to put my name, "Karl Moore," in the subject line to ensure it gets past my junk mail filter. Please include samples of recent designs, and I'll get back to you with more information.
Thanks for your time!Labels: ramblings |
