"Don't cry over anything that won't cry over you." -- Bob Proctor Labels: quotes
We wake up each day, often blissfully unaware that we are evolving. Physically, our bodily functions are constantly changing and adapting to maintain survival and optimum performance. Our brain cells are constantly being stimulated by new experiences and adapt as a result of those experiences. Our vital energy constantly fluctuates and is the perfect barometer of our mental and spiritual state. Quite simply, we are pretty amazing Although we possess a body - this incredible vehicle for the soul - it needs a little help to ensure optimum health and well-being. Exercise, good food, adequate rest and care all contribute to maintaining equilibrium but your thoughts and feelings also have a major impact on the quality of your life. When things aren't going too well in life, your body will reflect your thoughts and feelings. Notice how you feel when you're angry or anxious. Your heart-rate will increase along with your blood pressure. You will feel tense and perhaps have a headache. You may have a stomach ache or a bad back. Similarly, notice how you feel when you're happy or sad. Your body will respond accordingly. Sadness makes you feel weary, heavy, cold and weak. Happiness makes you feel vital, light, warm and strong. Although affected by environment and hereditary issues, the overall health of our mind, body and spirit is primarily affected by our own thoughts and feelings. If you have unresolved emotions, such as anger, resentment, fear and so on, over time your body will start to suffer. To achieve greater health and harmony, reflect on your thoughts and feelings right now. Let go of the emotional states that are no longer serving you. Remember, you always have a choice about how you wish to think and feel. What's more, the choices you make could be significant to your overall health and well-being now and in the future. So, choose to be positive and happy. Aim to harmonise mind, body and spirit. Feel the benefits! Labels: inspiration, self-development
Do you ever find yourself turning away life's opportunities simply because you don't feel ready or able to take them? Do you ever react to that internal dialogue that says you're not worthy, not good enough, not special enough? Sometimes, potential can be limited simply because of a redundant program that has been allowed to run in the mind. Thoughts become reality. If you choose to accept the limiting dialogue, you will fail to take life's opportunities. Effectively, you become a slave to a closed mindset. But it doesn't have to be this way. You can break down the walls of negative, unsupportive dialogue and thoughts. You can choose a no limits attitude. Whenever there are choices to be made or opportunities to take advantage of, consider your reaction. When you hear yourself making excuses out of fear or insecurity, or because of what you've been told or previously chosen to believe, you need to ask yourself ... "Is this a limiting thought?" Are you really holding yourself back? As soon as you start breaking down those barriers and realizing that there are no limits, you begin to see the potential of everything that you can do and experience. Life is absolutely amazing. So, what are you waiting for? Go live it! Labels: inspiration
There are many times in our daily lives we feel overwhelmed by sadness. The passing of an animal. The ending of a relationship. The arrival of the bank statement. It's inevitable. And we occasionally need to remind ourselves that in order to experience happiness, we must experience that sadness. Yet, still, that doesn't make it any easier. That's why today I'd like to remind you of a few techniques that I use when times get rough. Firstly, remember the words of Stephen Fry. Though admittedly a chap that experiences more than his fair share of downs, he at least recognizes the source. He states, quite simply: "Stop feeling sorry for yourself - and you will be happy." (Watch a video of Stephen discussing self-pity here: http://www.karlblog.com/blog/2008/03/how-to-be-happy.html) Are YOU feeling sorry for yourself? If so... just... STOP. The second powerful technique I often use is to simply let go of the problem - and let God handle it. Whomever, or whatever, you consider God to be. Let go of the worrying. Let go of the wanting approval. Let go of the needing security. Let go of trying to control the situation. Just LET GO and LET GOD. (I first wrote about the idea of "Letting Go and Letting God" way back in October 2006. Read my original article here: http://www.karlblog.com/blog/2006/10/five-simple-words-let-go-and-let-god.html) So, if you're finding yourself feeling sad, or depressed, or somehow down this weekend, then remember those simple steps to happiness. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. And Let Go and Let God. Then smile :) Because you're alive. Labels: inspiration, quotes, self-development

Regular readers of this blog know that I regularly talk about self-development and spirituality. But what do I really think? I recently did an interview with Mohamed Tohami of the Life Purpose Discovery radio station - and the feature is available online right now. In the interview, I chat about the limitations of the brain, finding the "me" in the present moment, and following your freedom. So, if you're interested, visit this page: http://www.karlmoore.com/official/about/ And click on the play button at the bottom of the page. (Forgive my croaky voice! I had something of a cold while recording this interview.) Enjoy -- and remember: "All that we are is what is here in this present moment." Labels: audio post, inspiration, self-development
It's about time this blog had it's own theme tune. That's why myself, Artist X and his gang have been working furiously over the past couple of months to create "This Time" ... the official song of Karl Blog.com! Below, you can find details of the entire experience -- including studio shots, lyrics, and more. I helped write the lyrics and style the song... and you can hear "Karl Blog!" sung repeatedly at the end of the track. It's beautiful! :) And this inspirational little song is coming your way tomorrow. Want to listen to the studio chatter, and hear a sneak preview of different parts of the song? Click HERE to listen to the behind-the-scenes chatter! Karl Blog.com Song Lyrics I’m free just like the sky above like the space between ourselves and us it’s all around you I let go of the voice inside no need to cling to thoughts and time there’s nothing to hold onto and it feels so nice to be here in this space and time and you and I lose ourselves outside our minds and love a feeling that is deep inside and I feel alright happy just to be alive this time each moments rises right on time they never miss a beat and I go with the flow around me you can’t touch me where I am I’m further from the place I’ve been just wait and soon we’ll all see and it feels so nice to be here in this space and time and you and I lose ourselves outside our minds and love a feeling that is deep inside and I feel alright happy just to be alive this time It’s always morning somewhere in the world wherever you may roam There’s nothing good or bad here at all but thinking makes it so If you always do what you’ve always done you’ll get more of what you’ve had A ship is safe in harbor but that’s not what it’s for live each day like it’s the last Karl Blog! When in conversation with family, friends, colleagues or someone new, do you speak your truth or do you hide your true feelings behind words? Statistically, many people would sooner lie than risk exposing their true feelings. Isn't that sad? So, what's so wrong with the truth? Some believe that the truth will isolate or alienate them. Many will say anything just to fit in and be accepted, even if it makes them feel utterly miserable as a result. Yet, we are all individuals with quite individual perspectives... Speaking our truth allows us to live fully, without inner conflict. Are you in a situation where you're struggling with your truth for fear of what others may think? If so, remember that the only people that won't accept you are those that you don't need around you anyway. Don't live a false life simply to impress others. Speak your truth and you'll find like-minded, supportive people who will respect and appreciate you as you are. William Shakespeare once said: "This above all; to thine own self be true." Life is too short for living a lie. You are an amazing individual so celebrate that fact. Speak your truth and you'll feel better for being genuine. Labels: inspiration, self-development
Imagine you're from another solar system... And you've tuned into planet Earth's news channels to learn a little about your universal neighbours. Stories of war, terror, destruction, crime, pollution and similar atrocities dominate. If you're lucky, you'll find the odd inspirational story but, on the whole, the news is pretty grim. After watching Earth's news channels, the question is would you visit Planet Earth? More than likely, the answer would be no. Who wants to visit a planet that is ruled by such a destructive race? Of course, we know that the news doesn't give a balanced picture of life on planet earth. It's not all doom and gloom. We just don't hear all those thousands of inspirational stories of human kindness, adventure, triumphs and beauty. Bad news works because most people have grown up programmed to tune into these negative aspects of life. Some even crave their daily fix of doom. It's only when you switch off the negative news channels and cancel your gloomy newspapers that you start to feel more positive and inspired. Some may think that switching off the news means that we're burying our heads in the sand to all the bad stuff that happens in the world. On the contrary, switching off - banning the doom and gloom - means that we're more focused on living positively, peacefully and with greater harmony in the world around us. Surely that's a good thing! Besides, switching off the news gives you more time to go out and enjoy life. Think of all the time you'll save! ... Time that you can use to bring some positive news into the world! Enjoy your day! Labels: fun, inspiration
"Act as if it were impossible to fail." -- Dorothea Brande Labels: quotes, videos
Aesop once said... "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." That's so true. Often, it is the small acts of kindness which create the biggest and most positive changes. These small deeds, delivered with love and compassion, can make an amazing difference. You may think what you're doing is so insignificant but it's likely to make a huge difference to someone or something in the great order of things. There are many stories that remind me that small acts of kindness are powerful. Like the boy who was on the beach spending his time and energy collecting beached starfish to throw back into the sea. Someone came along and was bemused at the boy's folly, shouting, 'What's the point of throwing them back? You're not making a difference.' The boy released another starfish in the sea and replied: 'Well, I made a difference to that one.' And it's true. Even if you make a difference to one life today, then it's worth doing. Make someone laugh, show simple courtesy, give your seat on the train to someone more needy, give a little of your time and energy to a worthy cause, and you WILL make a difference. And when you offer a kind deed, notice how warm you feel inside. You will positively radiate. Apart from love, nothing else can give you that inner glow and the more kindness you give, the greater that feeling. Try it today! You can make a difference! Karl the interviewer has been busy :) I've finally removed the headset - and made three fantastic new interviews live, for the Writers FM and Self Dev Radio stations. These hot new interviews have just entered the system... Jean Macleod - The 100-year old romance author chats about writing her 130 novels, life during the war - and the secret to longevity! - Download from Writers FM Francine Silverman - Author of "Book Marketing from A-Z" and editor of the Book Promotion Newsletter chats with me about getting your book into the spotlight - Download from Writers FM Steve Ryals - Ex-drug addict and alcoholic turned minister and self-help sensation, Steve Ryals talks about his book "Drunk with Wonder" - and his inner transformation - Download from Self Dev Radio You can download each of these now using the links above. And remember that just a couple of days ago, I also posted the interview with Joanne Harris, author of Chocolat - which you can stream live by clicking here. Incidentally, someone recently mailed and asked how long each interview takes to actually "do." Well, I timed it. And for every hour of audio, around ten hours go into research, preparation and editing. Sometimes I wish I could be on the listening end ;) Enjoy! :) Labels: inspiration, radio work, self-development, writing
