What You Desire to Appear
I stumbled into a fantastic quote just yesterday evening, by Greek philosopher Socrates.
It read:
"The way to gain a good reputation, is to endeavor to be what you desire to appear."
What a fantastic thought.
How many of us really try to appear a particular way?
How often does Karl Moore try to appear all self-developed, and smart, and spiritual?
And how often is it all just a bit fake?
Again, the quote:
"The way to gain a good reputation, is to endeavor to be what you desire to appear."
What do YOU want to be?
And why don't you try to really BE it?
Labels: inspiration, self-development

I completely agree, Karl! What you think, you become. So who you think you want to be, you will be! The Law of Attraction, we call it now. Only one suggestion, Karl, omit the word "try". It's a word we all use, but it is an expression of internal doubt and fear which limits uch to be who we want to be!

Hi Karl,
I really enjoy your blog posts - I'm on your email list so I get them regularly, but I wanted to let you know how much you are appreciated. I'm a Unity minister, retired from full-time church ministry now, but still active with my newsletter, guest-speaking, etc. Your spiritual approach is very much like Unity too, so flows along with my own spirit.
Could I use some of your blog posts on my own blog, giving you credit of course? Here's my blog:

Blessings,

I think people desire to appear a certain way, but much of the time what they desire may be influenced too heavily by external opinions. The key is to pinpoint how YOU want to appear. Do you want to appear this way because you find value, happiness, intelligence in this, or is it simply because everybody else appears this way and now you feel you need to to fit in? You have to know yourself first. Even if you don't appear a certain way, you can trick your mind into thinking your appear that way, namely through telling yourself repetitive affirmations. For example, if you are not the most attractive person in the world, you can simply tell yourself a million times that you are. After a certain amount of time, it becomes ingrained in your non-conscious mind and you begin to believe it! See here... www.readtheanswer.com/index.php?RTA=web2

I think what anyon desiresto appear must ultimately be true who they are. I wrote a great piece on self branding from both an external and internal prespective.
